Pochaev, Ukraine, April 11, 2018
His Eminence Metropolitan Vladimir (Moroz) of Pochaev, abbot of the Holy Dormition Pochaev Lavra, has recovered from heart surgery that he underwent in March, and has begun celebrating the Divine services again, reports Orthodox Life.
In particular, the Ukrainian hierarch had the joy and blessing of celebrating the holy Paschal services. He was concelebrated by the ordained brethren of the monastery. Thousands of parishioners and pilgrims prayed at the service.
His Eminence was in intensive care after undergoing heart surgery in March, although his life was not in danger.
His Eminence spoke with Pravoslavie.ru in January about the attempts of Uniates and schismatics in Ukraine to seize the Lavra and celebrate their own false services in it, and about how God has protected the Lavra throughout many decades and centuries of persecutions.
At that time he offered a simple yet profound, Scriptural truth that speaks to his present condition: “We must remember that the Lord is with us, and that the thorny and narrow path leads to the Kingdom of Heaven.”
