The man who attacked Abbot Tryphon of All-Merciful Saviour Monastery on Vashon Island, Washington on April 16 has been arrested in connection with another assault, reports Komo News.

The 33-year-old man was arrested by Seattle police for a separate assault that took place on Saturday, though no information on that incident is currently available. He is currently in the King County jail.

The man physically attacked Fr. Tryphon while he was pumping gas in Burien, Washington. The assault was unprovoked, though Fr. Tryphon believes it was likely due to his monastic clothing. He is still experiencing hearing loss and ringing and doctors say it could be up to three weeks until he feels recovered.

Police had released video footage and photos of the man from the gas station’s surveillance system, hoping for leads on his identity and whereabouts.

The Russian Orthodox monk had expressed that he would like to meet the man to offer him forgiveness and the love of Christ. Abbot Tryphon told Komo News that after the man was arrested, Pierce County Sheriff Pastor called him and said he work on arranging a meeting.
