A number of Orthodox faithful from the Georgian Church have published an appeal in support of the suffering brothers in the faith in Ukraine and Montenegro.

On December 31, a message to the Orthodox faithful of Montenegro, Serbia, and Ukraine was published on the Georgian site zneoba.ge.

The appeal reads:

We, the flock of the Georgian Orthodox Church, address the Orthodox of Ukraine, Serbia, and Montenegro with Christian love. Your trial is a trial for the entire Orthodox Church.

Those who are in schism are outside the Church and will not be saved. The forces of this world are fighting with the Church and want to humiliate it. But we must always remember that the Church stands on the rock—on Christ—and the gates of hell will not overcome it.

Your Orthodox brothers from Georgia are standing with you.

May the Lord help you!

The appeal is currently signed by more than 75 Georgian Orthodox faithful, and the collection of signatures is continuing.

Pilgrims from the canonical Ukrainian Church recently traveled throughout Georgia, where they had the opportunity to meet with several Georgian Orthodox hierarchs who expressed their support for His Beatitude Metropolitan Onuphry of Kiev and All Ukraine and the suffering Ukrainian faithful.

It is with deep sorrow that we in Ukraine receive reports of the deterioration of the situation of the Orthodox Church on the territory of Montenegro. The news that reaches us speaks of the threat of the forcible removal of holy sites and the destruction of specific places of prayerful worship, and much else that cannot but disturb our hearts and souls.
