Ukraine previously sanctioned 17 representatives of the Ukrainian and Russian Churches.

Vladimir Legoida, one of those sanctioned, commented:

The clergy and laity of the Russian Church included in this list are united by the fact that all of them (we) publicly opposed the overt repression of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, the Church that the Ukrainian authorities decided to destroy. We all showed solidarity with our brothers in Ukraine, deprived of their legal rights, native churches, and even health and life. This arouses the hatred of the Ukrainian political regime.

Augustine: Their silence speaks loudly to me that they are hoping for the destruction of the canonical Church and basically do not care what happens to all the clergy and people of that Church. They figure their OCU is the way of the future but of course this is a fallacy. This will result in massive amounts of people leaving the Church in protest of the OCU. I live in Canada and we are under Constantinople too but what are we to do when the canonical Church is now cut off from the rest of the world and we are forced to be in a Church that will now move ahead with a new religion full of ecumenists, schismatics, and even luke warm believers. I can tell you I will not be a part of a Church that bashes other Orthodox Christians while accepting the lgbtq agenda.

Are you surprised, Augustine? Silence (also) speaks volumes.
