The exhibit "Serbia, the Land of Frescos" has opened in the European Parliament building in Brussels, reports the website of the Serbian government.

The exhibit, in which copies of the most expressive medieval frescoes from famous Serbian monasteries are displayed, was opened by the Minister of Culture of the Republic of Serbia, Neboisha Bradich.

In his speech, Mr. Bradich announced that this exhibit was called to disperse the prejudices existing in the world with regard to Serbia, and to present his country as the inalienable part of Europe it has always been. The Minister emphasized that the works displayed at the exhibit are not only Serbia's heritage, but also the priceless wealth of all mankind, which their inclusion in the UNESCO World Heritage list implies.

On display at the exhibit are copies of frescos from the Serbian monasteries of Manasija, Mileseva, Gradac, Ravanica, Studenica, Gracanica, High Decani, Patriarchate of Pec, and from the churches of Old Nagorik and the Ljeviska Mother of God.
