Patriarch Irinej: I leave strengthened and amazed by what I experienced in Montenegro

On his official visit to the Diocese of Budimlje-Niksic, His Holiness Irinej, Patriarch of Serbia served the hierarchical Divine Liturgy on Sunday, July 31, the feast day of Martyr Aemilian, in the church of St. Basil of Ostrog in Niksic, reports the official website of the Serbian Orthodox Church, citing the diocese of Budimlje-Niksic.

Concelebrating with His Holiness were: His Eminence Amfilohije Archbishop of Cetinje and Metropolitan of Montenegro and the Littoral, and Their Graces, Bishops Jovan of Sumadija, Grigorije of Zahumlje-Herzegovina, newly-elected Jovan of Nis, Heugomen of the Ostrog monastery, Joanikije of Budimlje-Niksic, retired Atanasije of Zahumlje-Herzegovina, newly-elected vicar of the Patriarch Jovan as well as many priests, monks and deacons of the mentioned Dioceses. Many people came with joy to see the Patriarch and participate the service at the Cathedral Church of St. Basil of Ostrog. His Grace Bishop Joanikije welcomed His Holiness and distinguished guests: ambassadors of the Russian Federation, Ukraine and Serbia in Montenegro: Andrej Nesterenko, Oksana Sljusarenko and Zoran Lutovac, as well as other figures from public and social life of Serbia and Montenegro. Among the latter were Mladjen Djordjevic, Advisor to the President of the Republic of Serbia and Srdjan Djokovic, the father of famous Serbian tennis player, Novak Djokovic.
