Chervonohrad (the Lviv region), August 20, 2014

At night of August 18 to 19 unidentified people broke into the Church of the Protecting Veil of the Mother of God in the city of Chervonohrad.

According to evidence given by the church rector, Archpriest Igor Dergach, the vandals were interested in the church till, icons, and silver crosses, reports the Lviv Diocese’s press service.

The rector is thanking God that the robbers have not desecrated the holy altar table, the antimensions, and the church vessels. After a long examination of the church by the police and the church committee a service was celebrated there according to the service schedule.
