Church of St. Xenia of St. Petersburg is desecrated in Kiev

Kiev, February 3, 2016

On January 31 unidentified people desecrated the Church of Blessed Xenia of St. Petersburg of the First Darnitsky Deanery of Kiev, reports the Information and Education Department of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (UOC MP) with reference to the parish clergy.

    

The culprits penetrated the church through a window, entered the chancel, scattered about the sanctuary items from the altar and oblation table, spilled the reserved Holy Gifts from the tabernacle, stole the church donations and other objects.

A criminal case has been initiated. According to the press service of the Darnitsky municipal police department, an investigation is now being conducted: the suspects are being identified.
