The faithful present at the Divine Liturgy officiated at Plumbuita Monastery by His Grace Timotei of Prahova, Assistant Bishop to the Archdiocese of Bucharest, also participated in the blessing service of the new outdoor altar, which was built during May 2015 – July 2016.

In his homily, His Beatitude Patriarch Daniel explained the Gospel reading referring to the raising of the son of the widow of Nain. His Beatitude underlined the need to help the bereaved, to be close to those who are grieving their beloved.

The Romanian Patriarch also spoke about the role family, School, and Church play in educating young people.

The communion of paternal, fraternal and friendly love helps young people grow spiritually and physically. That is why, Family, Church, School and Society must support children and young people not to confuse freedom and estrangement from their family, nor happiness and egotistic individualism, which brings insensitivity towards the needs other have.

In his address, the Patriarch of the Romanian Orthodox Church stressed out that when observing the restoration of places of worship we are called to renew our lives through good deeds and repentance so that we can become a sanctified temple and a spiritual paradise. Furthermore, His Beatitude said that following restoration Plumbuita Monastery has become a tabernacle of spiritual resurrection from death caused by sin, and a call to communion with God, through prayer, and with fellow people, through good deeds.

Finally, as a sign of appreciation and gratitude, the Patriarch of Romania awarded church distinctions to those who supported the restoration works carried out at the monastic settlement of Plumbuita. His Beatitude presented as a gift for Plumbuita Monastery a set of sacred vessels, a blessing cross and several liturgical and spiritual books.
