Metropolitan Nathanael of Chicago of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America was hospitalized on Sunday after experiencing acute and persistent pain.

The pain was unrelated to the coronavirus, reports the Archdiocesan press service.

Met. Nathanael is now recuperating and is expected to resume his daily duties in the near future, though he will be unable to fulfill his commitments during Holy Week and possibly Bright Week.

The Metropolitan asks for prayers for a full and speedy recovery.

Hi Zosima. Yes. It's nice to dream. Just remember a certain man - J I. Christ walked on water, and he witnessed it along with all the other miracles and yet he was still so insanely blinded. The pharisees knew the scriptures and saw Christ perform miracles but again were still blinded. If Christ couldn't help any of these wretches, well not sure this bishop person will fair any better. But let's keep living in wonderland now. Altogether y'all. Kumbaya me Lord Kumbaya....

May God open this man's eyes, and grant him a genuine repentance. May he embrace the Orthodoxy of the Holy Fathers, which is the only true, pure and genuine Orthodoxy, and may he reject the heresy and ecumenism that has poisoned his soul for so long! May we one day be able to cry out "axios" when we see or think of this man, but until then let us repent since God Has punished us be allowing enemies of true, pure and patristic Orthodoxy to take primate positions! May God forgive us!
