The full relics of the Empress St. Helen, mother of St. Constantine the Great, arrived in Romania on April 30 and will remain through May 8.
Organized by the Trustees of the Grand Duchess Elizabeth Romanov Society (GDERS), the event offered a rich program of talks, exhibitions, and conversations.
The main festivities were led by His Holiness Patriarch Daniil of Bulgaria at the Holy Dormition Cathedral in Varna, timed to the feast of St. Tsar Boris the Baptizer of Bulgaria.
The Patriarch emphasized that St. Sava introduced Serbs to the mystery of the Cross and Christ’s Resurrection, and that Deževa is therefore the birthplace of all Orthodox Serbs.
