An arson attempt at the historic Hagia Sophia Cathedral in Constantinople was thwarted when a man tried to set fire to papers inside the monument that has served as a mosque since 2020.
The pilgrimage procession began August 2 in Moscow at the site of a church under construction dedicated to St. Theodore. Over four days, participants traveled 1,165 miles by motor vehicle, visiting key locations associated with the admiral’s life to transport his relics from Moscow to Saransk.
Doctors are describing the hierarch’s condition as extremely serious.
The school, which has graduated approximately 200 students since its establishment in 1987, now faces a comprehensive evaluation process over the next 12 to 24 months.
The appeal comes as Ukraine has increasingly turned to forcibly mobilizing clergy of the canonical UOC in recent months.
