On July 27, seven wonderworking icons of the Mother of God will be brought to the Vladimirskaya Gorka park in Kiev from various dioceses of the Ukraine, reports UNIAN with reference to the Ukrainian Orthodox Church’s information center.

On the evening of 16/17 July, to honour the memory of the murdered Russian Emperor Nicholas II and his family, more than 60,000 Orthodox faithful took part in the 20-km royal procession pilgrimage from the Church on Blood in Honour of All Saints Resplendent in the Russian Land in Ekaterinburg to the Monastery of the Royal Martyrs at Ganina Yama.

Holy Synod of the Russian Church establishes a day of special prayer for the God's creation

The Holy Synod members have approved the text of a special prayer for protection of the God’s creation (prepared by the Synodal Liturgical Commission) which will be held annually in all churches of the Russian Orthodox Church on the first Sunday of September. The Synod has also decreed that archpastors and pastors should deliver sermons dedicated to care for God’s creation on that day.
