The faithful will visit more than 70 settlements of the Crimea, Kuban, the Rostov, Voronezh, Belgorod, Kursk, Bryansk, and Smolensk regions.
“The international community is not doing enough to protect the Christian population of the Middle East,” said the Russian President.
The decision was made several days after a visit of the delegation of the Holy Kinot of Mt. Athos to Athens during which the monks had a meeting with Deputy Minister of Finance Nadia Valavani.
Fires on the territory of Eastern Siberia began on April 11-12. The cause of the incidents was the same in each case: someone intentionally ignited dry grass. As a result of the strong wind the fire swiftly spread to villages, individual farmsteads, and camping sites. At least 1473 residential houses have been destroyed by fire.
