Akathist Hymn to Joachim and Anna, Ancestors of God

Today we commemorate the Conception by St. Anna of the Most Holy Mother of God. This miraculous conception of the girl who would later conceive the Only Begotten Son of God in her womb of the Holy Spirit, the Virgin Mary, makes the aged, holy righteous Joachim and Anna the grandparents of our Lord. It is fitting for us to pray to them, as we do in the litanies at all our divine services. And in honor of these holy parents, we may also pray an Akathist Hymn.
