The cure for sadness and grief is prayer or psalmody and thanksgiving to the Lord. If you compel yourself to read the Psalter with attention and intersperse it often with the Jesus Prayer and prayers to the Mother of God and all the saints, then your grief will subside and you will receive great spiritual benefit.

At the end of August, ten students of Eton made a private, unofficial visit to Russia, during which they spent time in Moscow and St. Petersburg, became acquainted with their Russian counterparts, and met with the President of Russia Vladimir Putin. We asked the boys to share their impressions.

As he was being led from his cell Fr. Maxim realized where they were taking him and humbly and with dignity asked, "Be so good as not to hold me. I will go peacefully wherever you wish." There they ripped his priestly cross from his chest and threw it to the dirt, marking an “X” with chalk over his heart for a target.

At the end of the August, eleven students of Eton College came to Russia on an unofficial visit, spending time in Moscow and St. Petersburg. In Moscow the Etonians were received by Sretensky Monastery and Sretensky Theological Seminary. The undergraduate and graduate students of Sretensky Seminary, many of whom also hold secular university degrees, were especially interested to hear about how education is organized at Eton.

The New Martyr Anastasius, a Bulgarian, was born in 1774 in the Strumnitsk diocese, in the village of Radovicha.
