Traditionally, the enthronement of the Patriarch is celebrated as a Churchwide feast.
The Council of the Estonian Orthodox Church (Moscow Patriarchate) held an emergency session this week to discuss the fate of His Eminence Metropolitan Evgeny of Tallinn in the country.
“The decision to adopt the new calendar, holds implications not only for the liturgical practices but also for the broader identity and connection of the St. Vladimir Cathedral with the greater Ukrainian Orthodox Christian community,” the UOC-USA reports reads.
It was reported last week that His Eminence Metropolitan Evgeny of Tallinn’s residence permit won’t be renewed after it expires on February 6, as authorities have deemed him a threat to national security.
Czech opponents of the Convention expressed the same concerns as many other countries and a number of Orthodox Churches: That it introduces new concepts of men and women and imposes harmful gender ideology.
