Having undergone a successful surgery in the U.S. more than two weeks, the Bishop of Corinth of the Orthodox Church of Greece was discharged from the hospital on Tuesday, October 15.
The meeting, which began with a brief tour of the cathedral, focused on several critical topics including religious freedom, the Orthodox Church in America’s role in U.S. society and the broader Orthodox world, and global religious persecution.
On Sunday, October 13, a vicar bishop was consecrated for the Serbian Orthodox Church’s Diocese of New Gračanica and Midwestern America.
The participants condemned the war waged by Israel against Lebanon and its citizens, accompanied by assassinations, killing of innocent citizens, destruction, forced migration, and displacement.
Today, the Belarusian Church includes 15 dioceses, more than 1,700 parishes, 7 spiritual educational institutions, 36 monasteries, 15 brotherhoods, and 9 sisterhoods. There are about 1,900 active Orthodox churches, with about 150 more under construction.
