The Parish temple is indissolubly linked to the family life of its parishioners. The Orthodox family, in the words of St. Paul, is the “home church.” The parish can be considered a kind of confederacy of all the small churches that are Orthodox households. If an Orthodox family remains closely connected to the church the true spirit of the church naturally pervades it, forming fertile ground for its members’ spiritual growth and development.

The saint was not only an outstanding Orthodox enlightener; he is truly considered a great prophet of latter times. St. Cosmas of Aitolia left a great number of stunningly exact prophecies about the future of mankind (about scientific inventions, wars, and ecological catastrophes). Many of his predictions have already come to pass, while others are still awaiting their fulfillment.
On August 23, the Diocese of Zaporozhye of the canonical Ukrainian Orthodox Church held a diocesan assembly, with the participation of 216 delegates (clergy, monastics, laity) to discuss the new law intended to ban the Church.
Vasile Șoimaru, who has served in Moldovan Parliament in three separate periods, recently claimed on Moldovan television that, “The moment will come when we, like Ukraine, will renounce the Metropolis of Moldova, which is in fact Russian… This fall the issue will be resolved.”
The Georgian Orthodox Church already enjoys a special status in the country and isn’t interested in becoming the official state religion, say Church representatives.
