Earlier this month, at the Greek Orthodox Cathedral in Denver, a team of women boiled 1,200 eggs and colored them red with dye imported from Greece."It's just like we did it there," said Dena Kitsos, who grew up in Pikarni, a small village outside Athens, and emigrated to Denver in 1954.

“We celebrate the death of death, the destruction of hades, the beginning of another life eternal, and leaping for joy, we hymn the Cause, the only blessed and most glorious God of our fathers.”
As we celebrate this ‘Feast of feasts and Triumph of triumphs,’ it is with a special spiritual feeling that we recall the redemptive act of the Saviour of the world, his sufferings on the Cross and bright resurrection. Pascha is not some beautiful legend, not some theoretical theology and not a nod towards a popular custom established in the distant past. It is the essence and kernel of Christianity. It is the victory that God has granted to us.

The services of Pascha mark the end of Christ’s passion and the beginning of new life in the resurrection of the risen Lord. All come and partake of this joy. Along with audio recordings of Paschal hymns sung by the Sretensky Monastery Choir, we present an outline of the services of the Bright Resurrection of Christ.
