The Church of St. John of Kronstadt in Kirovske (the Donetsk region) was destroyed on August 23, 2014: during an evening service a shell hit the church building. As a result 3 people were killed and 7 seriously injured. Services are currently held in the Sunday school which is still unfinished. However, despite its own critical situation, the congregation nevertheless finds an opportunity to support those who are in a worse situation.

Over 75,000 believers venerate relics of St. Vladimir in Belarus

Bringing of the St. Vladimir’s relics to the cities of Russia and Belarus was organized on the Russian Orthodox Church’s initiative with support of the St. Basil the Great Charitable Foundation. It is timed to coincide with the 1000th anniversary of repose of the Holy Prince Vladimir, the Baptizer of Russia (Rus’), which is widely celebrated this year.
