The Ascension Convent of the canonical Ukrainian Orthodox Church in the village of Chumalevo, Zakarpattia Province, celebrated its 100th anniversary over the weekend, on the feast of the Prophet Elijah.
The 20th-century saints of the Romanian Orthodox Church’s Metropolis of Bessarabia were among the 16 saints canonized by the Romanian Synod in July 2024 and proclaimed on a Churchwide level in February of this year.

The feast of the uncovering of the relics of St. Seraphim of Sarov drew thousands of Orthodox Christians to Holy Trinity-St. Seraphim Diveyevo Monastery on Friday, August 1, including 19 hierarchs and a host of clerics.
The relics were brought to the Belgorod Metropolia as part of an all-Russian cross procession dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the blessed repose of St. Tikhon. The large-scale procession began on April 6, in the capital and will conclude on October 9, covering at least 90 major cities in Russia and Belarus.
