Romanian Church donates $2,500 to school affected by fire

The Romanian Orthodox Patriarchate has donated more than $2,500 (10,000 lei) to a school in Dorobanţu, Tulcea County in eastern Romania that was affected by a fire on August 5, reports the site of the Romanian Orthodox Church.

The Tulce Diocese of the Romanian Church has also donated equipment towards the smooth running of the new school year.

His Grace Bishop Visarion of Tulce celebrated a Te Deum service at the school on Monday, when the aid was given to the school. The school’s teachers and 165 students gathered for the ceremony.

A message of His Beatitude Patriarch Daniel of Romania was read out, encouraging the children to love Christian values, as well as their school, their country, and the Church.

The Romanian Orthodox Church is the largest philanthropist in Romanian society, spending more than $175,000,000 for social purposes over the last decade.
