Fr. Photios Parks
Between new calendar and old calendar Christmas, a time of great grace and mercy, we spoke with Fr. Photius Parks, priest of the St. Anthony the Great Orthodox Mission Parish in Hernderson, North Carolina about the mission’s origins, its life, and its hopes for the future.
I met an angel at Jordanville once. That angel took the time to correct and challenge me to see the beauty, the holiness, in every person and not just in a select few.
Maybe the best answer to the difficult theological questions is simply to meet others in their pain, to offer our compassion, and to sacrificially show our love to them precisely what was modeled for us by our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Some years back, there was a point in my life when I didn’t give a second thought to the Saints. Fortunately, I had a life-changing experience that dispelled my incorrect notions about Saints and changed my whole paradigm in the way I view these holy servants.
