Russian Orthodox actor Petr Mamonov, the star of the famous film “The Island” (Ostrov), in which he played the clairvoyant fool for Christ Fr. Anatoly, was hospitalized after suffering a heart attack in late August.
According to messages on Mamonov’s official Facebook page, the actor has undergone a successful heart surgery.
The actor first underwent surgery on August 26, and again yesterday, September 12. “Dear friends! Thank you for your prayers! The operation went very well,” Mamonov wrote on his page today.
Mamonov’s wife told RIA-Novosti that he specifically asked her to bring him sermons of Fr. Dmitry Smirnov to listen to during his time in the hospital.
