The Archdiocese of Iași of the Romanian Orthodox Church will host a seminar tomorrow on the pervasive problem of pornography addiction.

The seminar, entitled, “Current Problems: Addiction to Pornography,” will be held tomorrow at 7:00 PM in the Metropolitan Museum of Iași. The main objective of the seminar is to identify the principles and methods for treating those suffering from soul-destroying addiction to pornography, reports the Basilica News Agency.

The event will be held in English.

“It is a current and important topic that deserves increased attention, as there are teenagers, young people, and adults around us suffering from such an addiction. We are concerned about this because it represents real suffering and often those who are affected do not realize that there really is a way out,” commented Fr. Cosmin Brînză of the Pro Vita Department of the Mission Sector of the Archdiocese of Iași.

The special guest speaker at the seminar will be Phil Poeschl, President of the Love is More Association, which aims to fight addiction to pornography.

“Inspired by the testimony and expertise of Mr. Phil Poeschl, we organized, together with our partners, this training event dedicated to priests, teachers, and trainers from Iași, Botoşani and Neamț counties, considering the fact that these vocational and professional categories interact with various human typologies, detect and discuss certain issues, and can actively contribute to the healing of people and societies,” Fr. Cosmin said.

The Pro Vita Department of the Archdiocese of Iași is organizing the event in partnership with the Archdiocesan Department of Counseling and Therapy for Dependent Persons and the Archdiocesan Center for Continuing Education.
