In honor of his 75th birthday, the Ukrainian television channel Inter produced an hour-long documentary film on His Beatitude Metropolitan Onuphry of Kiev and All Ukraine, entitled “Our Beatitude.”
The film tells about Met. Onuphry’s childhood, his path to seminary, to monasticism, to the priesthood, to the episcopate, and to the primatial throne in the Ukrainian Church.
The film features interviews with His Beatitude himself and several others who have known him throughout his life and remember him as a man of strong faith and prayer.
The film also covers the sad page in Ukrainian Church history when Philaret Denisenko departed into the schism that continues to this day.
Though the film is currently available only in Russian, our readers can still enjoy the scenes of beautiful churches and monasteries and nature throughout Ukraine, footage from the Divine services celebrated by Met. Onuphry, and feel the peace and calm that radiates from him when he speaks.
