Milieve, Chernivtsi Provice, Ukraine, April 25, 2023
One of the most beautiful Orthodox churches in the local area was set ablaze on Sunday-Monday night in the village of Milieve, Chernitvsi Province, in western Ukraine.
The Diocese of Chernivtsi and Bukovina reported that there were clear signs of arson against the Church of St. Job of Pochaev, which was completely burned beyond repair.
“What kind of blessing do we seek from God for our land?” the diocese asks. In fact, the Church of St. Job was built to replace the Church of St. Paraskeva that was seized by “Kiev Patriarchate” schismatics back in 2004.
The police launched an investigation and quickly detained the arsonist, a 34-year-old resident of the nearby village of Ispas, reports the Information-Education Department of the UOC.
Several UOC churches have been set ablaze in recent weeks as the persecution against the Church continues to intensify.
