The Gatchina Diocese of the Russian Orthodox Church has launched a new project aimed at helping hundreds of struggling families with children.

In fact, 600 families are already receiving comprehensive help from the Svyatograd Anti-Crisis Family Center at the Church of the St. Vladimir in the city of Kommunar, Leningrad Province, reports the Synodal Department for Charity and Social Services.

Fr. Alexei Dudin, head of the Social Department of the Gatchina Diocese and the Family Center, explains the history of the project:

During the pandemic, we started helping families with children in need. At first it was 20 wards, a year later we were already helping 200 families. Now 600 families with children who found themselves in a difficult life situation have become our wards. To support these families, the Svyatograd Anti-Crisis Family Center project was born. Its task is to help the family get out of a difficult life situation thanks to social, humanitarian, and psychological support.
