From March 20 to May 3, nearly 2,000 people in the Lugansk city of Severodonetsk and surrounding areas received medical assistance from a mobile diagnostic complex of the Church-run St. Alexei Hospital of Moscow.

“We were asked to help carry out a preventive medical examination of local residents, to which we readily responded,” hospital director Alexei Zarov told the Russian Church’s Synodal Department for Charity and Social Services.

“People don’t have the opportunity to get to the city, and there aren’t enough narrow-profile specialists here. Our diagnostic complex remained in the area as long as was necessary to complete the medical examination,” the director said.

Patients were seen by volunteer doctors who traveled to Severodonetsk in shifts.

The St. Alexei Hospital also donated a digital x-ray machine for the operating room to the Lugansk War Veterans Hospital.
