Metropolitan Jonah hospitalized with pneumonia while on pilgrimage in Georgia

His Beatitude Metropolitan Jonah (Paffhausen) has come down with a case of pneumonia while on pilgrimage in the country of Georgia.

Met. Jonah, former primate of the Orthodox Church in America and current abbot of the St. Demetrios of Thessaloniki Skete in Spotsylvania, Virginia, is stable and being treated by a local doctor who is the daughter of an Orthodox priest, reports Fr. Silouan (Brown), a member of the Skete brotherhood.

According to Br. Kyrylo, who is traveling with His Beatitude, Vladyka Jonah is feeling much better and has tested negative for Covid, but is still suffering from the symptoms of pneumonia.

He was blessed to receive Holy Communion in the hospital for the feast today.
