The Pechersk District Court of Kiev satisfied the complaint of the lawyers of the Kiev Caves Lavra yesterday, ordering the district police department to investigate the offenses of anti-Orthodox “activists” at the Kiev Caves Lavra.

The so-called “activists” have been attempting to disrupt Orthodox services at the monastery for months.

The relevant court document was published by the First Cossack Telegram channel and shared by the Lavra’s lawyer Archpriest Nikita Chekman.

Defenders of the monastery have already filed five complaints about crimes committed. “All actions of the provocateurs were carefully documented and handed over to law enforcement officers,” the channel reports.

In one incident, an Orthodox participant in a prayer standing suffered minor bodily injuries from being pepper sprayed.

Police officers on duty at the Lavra have ignored the rights of the faithful of the UOC and made no effort to prevent the criminal actions of the schismatic and nationalist “activists.” They also refused to then investigate the crimes.

“Now the court has ordered the police to do their duties. And this is just for one of the applications. There will be decisions on other issues later.”
