On New Year’s Day, when the Church celebrates the memory of the holy Martyr Boniface of Tarsus in Cilicia, the Minsk parish of the Inexhaustible Cup Icon of the Mother of God held its traditional cross procession for sobriety.

The procession was led by the head of the Belarusian Orthodox Church’s Coordination Center for Counteracting Drug Addiction and Alcoholism, the rector of the Inexhaustible Cup parish Archpriest Dionysiy Pyasetsky, reports the site of the Belarusian Orthodox Church.

Before the prayer march, Fr. Dionysiy served a moleben before the icon of St. Boniface. A number of people who are serious about overcoming their addiction and who advocate a sober and healthy lifestyle took a sobriety vow in the presence of many brothers and sisters in the faith.

More than 120 people participated in the procession.
