The fast is not a time of loss but a time of gain. Then, even the anticipation of the fast changes from fearful and reluctant to joyful, eager, and active.
I will dedicate this day to charity in the material and spiritual sense, and I will serve whoever needs me with patience and hospitality.
Just go and try to fulfill a single commandment as you should. And it will slowly become obvious that, as you fulfill it, you observe other commandments as well!
