The Diocese of the Philippines and Vietnam of the Russian Orthodox Church is known for helping those in need.

During Lent, the diocesan Department of Charity and Social Service, together with the Sisterhood of Mercy in General Santos City, continue its feeding program for low-income families and those in need on the island of Luzon, the diocese reports.

Department chairman Fr. David Grabbs, department staff, and the sisterhood regularly prepare dinners for those in need in the cities of Tagaytay, General Santos, Alabel, Kiamba, Santa Maria, Banate, Kinabalan, and Arakan.

The area benefiting from the Church’s social service is constantly expanding, according to the diocesan report.
