In honor of tomorrow’s feast of the Dormition of the Most Holy Theotokos (new calendar), the Greek Orthdoox Church’s Metropolis of Didymoteicho is lending a helping hand to needy families.

Over the past two weeks, 200 families have been helped, the diocese reports.

On July 29, 50 parcels of food aid were distributed, in cooperation with the SYN-ENOSIS Shipowners Union of Greece.

On August 12, another 150 families received food, secured through the Together Where There’s Need program in collaboration with the Archdiocese of Athens’ Apostoli charity organization and the supermarket Masoutis.

Metropolitan Damaskinos of Didymoteicho thanked the sponsors for their consistent support in critical areas and wished everyone that the Most Holy Theotokos might cover, protect, and bless them.
