During the service, His Eminence elevated Abbess Matrona to the rank of igumena.

In his homily, the Metropolitan recalled that the land for the monastery and a small house were donated to the Church by a pious layman upon his death. He also spoke about the wonder of the restoration of Holy Protection Convent in Moscow, where the relics of St. Matrona lie.

Following the service, Met. Ioanikije awarded the benefactors who had provided significant assistance in the construction and decoration of the monastery.
