In one Ukrainian town, the Orthodox believers hold regular religious processions.

In Korets, Rivne Province, home to about 7,000 people, the faithful of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church have been holding processions every month for 10 years now, reports the Rivne Diocese.

During the prayer march, the people offer prayers for their homeland and its inhabitants.

The most recent procession was held on Sunday, with priests and clergy prayerfully carrying icons through the streets of Korets and Old Korets, asking the Lord for peace, blessing, and protection for Ukraine.

“The religious procession is a special tradition that strengthens faith, unites people, and sanctifies the land that we love and pray for,” the diocese concludes.

Korets is also home to the Holy Trinity Convent, where Ukrainian Security Service officers planted fake evidence of “Russian propaganda,” though a criminal case was never opened against the monastery.
