Photo: Diocese of Maramureş and Sătmar A collaboration between the Romanian Orthodox Diocese of Spain and Portugal and the Diocese of Maramureş and Sătmar will provide a new home for a single-parent family with nine children who lost their house in a devastating fire.
The partnership has been established for a period of one year and aims to support children from vulnerable social backgrounds, reports the Diocese of Maramureş and Sătmar.
Through the “Build a House, Build Souls” diocesan project, the family will receive a newly constructed house, offering them the opportunity for decent living conditions.
Between 2018 and 2023, the project saw 163 houses rebuilt or repaired.
The financial assistance required for this project comes from the Diocese of Spain and Portugal through its “Parent’s Heart, Love for Abandoned Children” initiative, with contributions from Romanian Orthodox faithful in the Iberian diaspora.
The initiative not only addresses the material needs of the family but also provides hope to a severely tested household.
The Diocese of Maramureş and Sătmar expresses gratitude to His Grace Bishop Timotei, the entire Diocese of Spain and Portugal, and all those involved in this charitable endeavor.
