The relics of the recently canonized St. Nikodim Milaš, bishop of Dalmatia, were solemnly uncovered on September 20, in the Church of the Holy Savior in Šibenik, Croatia.
The clergy of the Serbian Orthodox Diocese of Dalmatia attended the rite, along with all professors and students of the Krka Theological Seminary. The event was led by His Eminence Metropolitan Nikodim of Dalmatia, reports the Serbian Orthodox Church.
St. Nikodim (Milaš) of Dalmatia (1845-1915) was bishop of Dalmatia and Istria, a renowned theologian, and canonical scholar who authored over 180 works including the influential Orthodox Church Law, and served as rector of the Belgrade Seminary. He was canonized by the Serbian Council of Bishops in May 2025.
Met. Nikodim called upon the faithful to gather on October 4 in the Church of the Holy Savior for the proclamation of the canonization of St. Nikodim (Milaš), when the Church will celebrate for the first time the feast dedicated to this great confessor and theologian who originated from Dalmatia, whose influence has been immeasurable throughout the Serbian Orthodox Church.
