A mass Baptism was celebrated in Cuba on Saturday, December 6, the new calendar feast of St. Nicholas.
The Sacrament was celebrated at St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church in Havana by the visiting Metropolitan Iakovos of Mexico, Central America, and the Caribbean Islands of the Patriarchate of Constantinople.

Six adults and two children were united to Christ in the Baptismal font on this occasion, the diocese reports.
Earlier that morning, Met. Iakovos visited a clinic for children with cerebral palsy. “For more than an hour he shared spontaneous love and joy with these children, distributing 10 special wheelchairs and other items that kind souls donated to our Church.”

Orthodoxy is represented in Cuba by the Moscow and Constantinople Patriarchates.
