Corfu, Greece, December 15, 2025
A hierarch of the canonical Ukrainian Orthodox Church was invited to celebrate the feast of St. Spyridon in his namesake cathedral on the island of Corfu this weekend.
His Eminence Archbishop Victor of Artsyz, a vicar of the Odessa Diocese, served a nighttime Divine Liturgy on December 12, when the Orthodox Church of Greece celebrates the feast of St. Spyridon, reports the Odessa Diocese.
The Archbishop served at the invitation of His Eminence Metropolitan Nektarios of Corfu and with the blessing of His Eminence Metropolitan Agafangel of Odessa.
The cathedral where the feast was celebrated houses the incorrupt relics of St. Spyridon.
During the Liturgy, prayers were offered for peace in Ukraine, for the soldiers, and for all God’s people.
Met. Nektarios of Corfu has long been an outspoken defender of the canonical Orthodoxy in Ukraine, speaking out in support of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church and offering precious relics and his prayers.
