The Serbian Orthodox Diocese of Eastern America has announced its 2026 Great Lenten Retreat, scheduled for Saturday, March 21, at Holy Trinity Serbian Orthodox Cathedral in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

The retreat will focus on the theme “Awake, O My Soul: Great Lent in an Age of Distraction,” featuring three guest speakers: Protopresbyter-Stavrophor Rodney Torbic, Abbess Christophora of the Orthodox Monastery of the Transfiguration in Ellwood City, PA, and Fr. Stefan Djoric.

The event will address the challenges of modern life marked by constant noise, distraction, anxiety, and spiritual fatigue, aiming to guide participants in rediscovering watchfulness, repentance, and hope through teaching, prayer, and worship as they prepare for Pascha.

The day will begin at 9:00 AM with registration and a Lenten breakfast, followed by an opening prayer and welcome. Fr. Rodney Torbic will deliver the first talk on “Protection and Care of the Soul,” while Fr. Stefan Djoric will speak on “Prayer and Letting Go.” Mother Christophora will present on “How to Protect the Mind from Useless Knowledge and Idle Curiosity.”

The schedule includes three Q&A sessions following each presentation, as well as Lenten lunch and dinner. Confession will be available from 5:15 to 6:00 PM, and the retreat will conclude with Great Vespers at 6:00 PM.
