30+ people baptized in Pakistan

More than 30 people were baptized in Pakistan this week.

The joyous celebration was held in the city of Faisalabad yesterday, March 19. In total, 33 people, including a mix of children and adults, were baptized at the Church of St. Nicholas by Fr. Anthony Skrynnikov, reports the Stavropol Diocese, where he serves as head of the Missionary Department.

Fr. Anthony is traveling with the blessing of His Eminence Metropolitan Kirill of Stavropol and Nevinnomyssk, and at the invitation of Pakistani priest Fr. Paul Sushil.

Russian Orthodoxy is represented in Pakistan by Fr. Paul (Moscow Patriarchate) and Fr. Joseph Farooq (ROCOR).

Following the Baptisms, Fr. Anthony addressed those gathered with a pastoral word and presented each of the newly baptized with an icon and chocolate from Russia.

The parish also received liturgical items as a gift, purchased with the personal funds of Met. Kirill of Stavropol and Nevinnomyssk.
