A Serbian Orthodox diocese in Bosnia has objected to an exhibition promoting Hindu gurus being shown in schools, including one named after St. Sava, the father of the Serbian Orthodox Church.

The Diocese of Zvornik and Tuzla issued a public statement condemning the Game Changers exhibition that has been hosted at the Semberija Museum and the St. Sava Elementary School in Bijeljina, with plans to tour all primary and secondary schools in Bijeljina and Janja.

The exhibition promotes the Neo-Hindu gurus Mohanji and Sai Baba and sect founders as “benefactors” who “change the world for the better,” according to the diocese.

The statement invokes the warnings of Orthodox elders such as St. Paisios the Athonite and Elder Thaddeus of Vitovnica against the soul-destroying delusion of such teachings.

The statement raises pointed questions about the appropriateness of the exhibition's venue. “How is it possible that schools bearing the name of St. Sava and Prince Ivo of Semberija are promoting ideas that have no connection whatsoever to the Orthodox faith, nor to the historical and spiritual identity of the Serbian people?”

The diocese frames its objection as a matter of responsibility rather than intolerance. “This is not a question of hatred or intolerance, but of responsibility. We’re obliged, as parents, educators, and citizens, to set boundaries and ask ourselves what is being offered to our children and in whose name.”

The statement calls on parents to pay attention to the content their children are being exposed to, urges school administrations to reconsider their decisions, and appeals to “all people of good will to get involved, ask questions, and not allow such occurrences to pass under the radar.”
