Uncut Mountain Press releases St. Raphael of Brooklyn’s critique of socialist ideology

Uncut Mountain Press has published a new book presenting St. Raphael of Brooklyn’s teachings on socialism and the revolutionary political ideals of the modern West, examined through an Orthodox Christian lens.

The volume, titled Against Socialism, takes up the Enlightenment slogans of Liberty, Equality, and Fraternity, which St. Raphael analyzes as forces that overthrew monarchies, brought centuries of conflict to Europe, and transformed Western societies.

The book presents his critique of modern revolutionary ideology as a guide for the faithful in navigating contemporary political currents.

Described as practical in its approach, the work offers analysis of these ideals grounded in the Gospel, with St. Raphael presenting Christian truth as exemplified in the life of Christ. Across several brief chapters, he draws readers back to the royal path.

The 56-page Against Socialism is the fourth volume in the series The Works of Saint Raphael of Brooklyn. The book is currently on sale at Uncut Mountain Press.
