Orthodox faithful and others in North Macedonia participated in a pro-family values parade in Bitola on Saturday, June 20, organized in response to the Skopje Pride parade that was held the next day.
The True Pride Parade has been held for the past six years, reports expres.mk.
Approximately 60% of the population of North Macedonia identifies as Orthodox.
Igor Petkovski, a representative of the organizers, said: “We’re here to defend our truths, our rights, to show why we should truly be proud, and if there’s something to be proud of, it’s the home, the family, parenthood, and our children.”
Petkovski added that the event wasn’t intended to target anyone: “We don’t spread hatred, we don’t offend or slander anyone—everyone has their own right, and in this way we’re expressing our right to an opinion.”
