The Russian Orthodox Church’s online donation platform Let’s Help has collected 253 million rubles (approximately $3.17 million) over three years of operation, funding social projects across 87 dioceses in Russia and abroad.
Archpriest Mikhail Potokin, Chairman of the Synodal Department for Church Charity and Social Ministry, said the platform has become an important tool for developing the Church’s social outreach in the regions outside major cities. Many of the fundraisers on the platform are connected to the Church’s assistance efforts in Donbas, where the Patriarchal Humanitarian Mission operates aid centers in 12 cities, reports Patriarchia.ru.
Over its three years of operation, 349 fundraising campaigns for social projects were launched on the platform. More than 50,000 people made donations over the platform’s three years of operation.
The largest single fundraiser in the platform’s history supported refugees from the Kursk Province and other border areas in 2024, raising 18.9 million rubles (approximately $236,500) for food and essential items. Another of the largest fundraisers supported victims of flooding in the Orenburg Province.
The Synodal Department for Charity coordinates more than 4,000 Church-affiliated social institutions and initiatives, including shelters for homeless people and women in crisis situations, projects assisting people with disabilities, addiction treatment centers, volunteer services, and humanitarian aid centers. The Church’s around-the-clock social assistance hotline receives more than 7,000 calls per month with various requests and needs.
