The popular Orthodox writer Khouria Frederica Mathewes-Green has been discharged from the hospital.
OrthoChristian reported last week that she had been hospitalized, likely with sepsis. Yesterday, Khouria Frederica reported on her own Facebook page that she is now home.
According to her post, she had been taken to the ER last Sunday “with what turned out to be septic colitis.” The sepsis and colitis were both quickly brought under control and she returned home on Thursday, though she has to remain on antibiotics for another week.
On Saturday, she had to return to the ER with vasculitis, which she had also suffered from five years ago, but she is already home from that hospital visit as well.
Khouria Frederica writes that she also may have injured her shin in a fall.
She concludes: “I can’t thank you enough for all your prayers and kind thoughts. Overall, it was a good ‘pilgrimage.’ I got lots of prayer done, nothing but prayer for hours. It was God’s plan for me. Sometimes His plans take us by surprise.”
