More than a million Orthodox faithful venerated the right hand of St. Spyridon of Tremythous during its monthlong stay in Russia, with over 300,000 of them venerating the relic in Moscow alone.
The reliquary was kept at the Cathedral of Christ the Savior in Moscow from September 15 to 20, where more than 300,000 people venerated the relic, reports Foma.
During the relic’s stay, clergy of the Moscow Diocese held molebens at the reliquary and offered spiritual support to pilgrims waiting in line.

Across Russia as a whole, more than a million believers venerated the relic in 12 regions between August 18 and September 20, according to Maria Korovina, press secretary of the Russian Orthodox Church’s Commission for the Development of Pilgrimage and the Bringing of Relics.
The relic was brought from the Greek island of Corfu by His Eminence Metropolitan Spyridon of Corfu of the Greek Orthodox Church. From September 21 to October 10, it will visit Kazakhstan, where it can be venerated in eight cities.
